Find a space for sunlight

The first thing you have to do is to find a place which has sufficient sunlight. If you are keeping an entire room for gardening, make sure the room has huge windows. Today even grow lights are available in the market for indoor gardening.

Choose your plants

Once you have space, determine what you will grow, think about the plants you will need for consumption and for decoration and essence. If you have to go to the grocery store to get the basics every day, like tomatoes and herbs, you can grow them at your home to eliminate that hassle.

Arrange your plants

You will need to decide which plants are to be kept where according to the exposure of sunlight. If a plant needs maximum sunlight, it needs to be kept nearest to light.  The sunlight is the best source for helping photosynthesis to occur. You can differentiate the plants based on their needs for Direct light, Moderate light, Indirect light, and Low light.

Consider a suitable room temperature

The idle temperature for most plants in between 18 degrees and 23 degrees celcius. Some of your plants might not be able to grow properly if the temperature of your home is more than 25 degree celcius. Research the plants which can grow normally in room temperature in your area.

Get creative

You can do anything  you want since it is your own garden. You can think about using different materials for making your pot. You can use empty bottles, jars, pain buckets for making some really creative pots. Also, make sure that the plants are compatible with the shape and size of the container you are using, or it may not give enough room for plants to grow.

Get good manure and well-draining soil

You need good soil for your plants so that the plants get enough oxygen. Well-draining soil allows water to percolate throughout the pot quicker than normal. Also, the soil should have a mix of compost and perlite, which is necessary for growing plants.

Label your plants according to feed instructions

Make sure that you have full knowledge about the plants. Mark each plant with how much you need to feed it with instructions. It will be easier for you to water them without wating time to remember again and again. It will also be helpful for your family member to do it instead of you if you are not around.
